It’s all about that dough — Tosca Cafe
Love the crispy, chewy, cheesy goodness that makes Tosca’s pizza so incredible? It’s all in the dough- we make it with love. Our Pizza Chefs share their secrets for exquisite homemade pizza dough, so you can bring some of that Tosca love to your own kitchen!
- 4 cups all-purpose flour (for chewy & crispy crust)
- 1 packet dry yeast
- 3 teaspoons salt
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 ½ -2 cups warm water
What to do:
Step 1: Combine all purpose flour, sugar, yeast and salt in large bowl & mix well (preferably with dough mixer)
Step 2: Add water and olive oil to the mix & beat until the dough forms a ball
**Depending on the consistency of the dough at this point, you may need to add water (if too dry), or flour (if too sticky)**
Step 3: Scrape mixed dough from the bowl onto a flat, lightly floured surface & carefully knead it into a firm, smooth ball
Step 4: Place ball into lightly-greased bowl or container, cover & set aside in warm place
Step 5: Let dough rise for at least 1-2 hours
Step 6: Place dough on lightly floured surface and divide into 2 balls, kneading until both look equal
Step 7: Cover with warm towel and let rest for 10-15 minutes
Step 8: Roll each ball out on lightly-floured surface into a flat circular shape
Step 9: Add a dash of flour, a dash of oil to the top
Voila! You’re ready for the sauce, cheese, and toppings!
